DataBridge Privacy Policy

1. Introduction & Scope

Welcome to DataBridge. DataBridge is a Google Workspace™ Add-on explicitly designed for Google Sheets™ to help business owners, accountants, and financial professionals seamlessly connect their spreadsheets to their MYOB company files.

Your privacy and data security are our highest priorities. Because DataBridge operates entirely within your Google Workspace™ environment, we have a uniquely minimal data footprint. This Privacy Policy outlines precisely what data we collect, what we do not collect, how your data is used, and how it is secured.

2. Information We Collect

DataBridge only collects and processes the information strictly necessary to facilitate the connection between your Google Sheets™ and MYOB. Based on our architecture, we collect the following:

From Google Workspace™:

  • User Email Address: We access the active or effective user's email address to route automated refresh reports to you and to identify you when you submit a support ticket.

From MYOB:

  • Account Metadata: We retrieve and store your MYOB Company Name and MYOB Business ID to identify the file you are connecting to.
  • Financial Data Payloads: DataBridge processes your financial data (such as Invoices and General Ledger Transactions) directly between MYOB and your Google Sheet™.

Stored in Google PropertiesService:

  • Authentication Data: MYOB OAuth tokens and file-level credentials (username and password) are securely stored in your Google environment's PropertiesService and ScriptProperties to maintain your active connection.

User-Submitted Support Information:

When you manually click "Submit" on a support ticket, we collect the message alongside specific diagnostic metadata: your email address, the DataBridge App Version, the MYOB Company Name, the active Google Sheet™ Name, and a timestamp.

3. Information we DO NOT Collect

We believe in absolute transparency. Because DataBridge is built to operate within your own Google infrastructure, there are several categories of data we explicitly do not collect:

  • NO Payment or Billing Information: We do not collect, process, or store credit card numbers, billing addresses, or interact with payment gateways like Stripe, PayPal, or Chargebee.
  • NO Automated Telemetry or Tracking: We do not use Google Analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party telemetry scripts.
  • NO Device or Network Surveillance: We do not track or log your IP address, browser fingerprint, or physical device information.
  • NO Marketing Data: We do not collect your information to build marketing profiles or subscribe you to promotional newsletters.

4. How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is strictly utilized for the core operation of the Add-on:

  • Core Functionality: To query the MYOB API using OData filters and synchronize your financial payloads directly into your Google Sheets.
  • Data Integrity & Security: We utilize your MYOB Business ID to enforce a "Sheet Lock" mechanism, which prevents users from accidentally syncing financial data from multiple MYOB entities into the wrong Google Sheet.
  • Automation: To send you automated email reports regarding the success or failure of your scheduled data refreshes.
  • Customer Support: To receive your support tickets, attach necessary diagnostic context (like your app version or sheet name), and reply to your inquiries directly.

5. Third-Party Services & Data Sharing

DataBridge does not sell your data. Your data is only transmitted to two necessary third-party services to ensure the Add-on functions:

  • MYOB API (api.myob.com): We transmit OAuth tokens, OData filter queries, and financial data payloads back and forth to synchronize your accounting data with your spreadsheet.
  • SMTP2GO (api.smtp2go.com): When you submit a support ticket or an automated report is generated, your email address, support message, and diagnostic metadata are transmitted securely via SMTP2GO directly to our support team at databridge@ecfo.com.au.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Because DataBridge operates within your Google Workspace™, you have ultimate control over your data retention:

  • Explicit Deletion: If you use the "Disconnect" feature within the DataBridge Add-on, the application manually and immediately purges your MYOB Business ID and MYOB Company Name from your Google Property stores.
  • Automated Cleanup: Our systems continually scan for deleted tabs within your Google Sheets™. If a spreadsheet tab linked to a report is deleted, DataBridge automatically deletes the associated configuration data, report maps, and automation queues.
  • Uninstalling: Saved automation schedules and OAuth tokens persist within your Google PropertiesService only as long as the Add-on is installed. Uninstalling the Add-on triggers standard Google Workspace™ procedures that purge your UserProperties.

7. Security & Data Storage

We employ rigorous security measures to protect your data:

  • Local Execution: Your financial data and configuration settings live entirely within your own Google Workspace™ environment.
  • Data in Transit: All external communications between Google Sheets™, MYOB, and our support email relay utilize industry-standard HTTPS/TLS encryption.
  • Secret Management: Application-level secrets, such as our MYOB Client Secret and SMTP API keys, are stored securely in backend ScriptProperties. These are inaccessible to the frontend user interface, ensuring they cannot be compromised.

8. Google Workspace™ API Limited Use Disclosure

DataBridge's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our codebase, regulatory requirements, or Google Workspace™ policies. If material changes are made, we will notify users via the Add-on interface.
